AhlulBayt News Agency - The Syrian Arab Army’s 103rd Brigade of the Republican Guard – backed by the Desert Hawks Brigade (Liwaa Suqour Al-Sahra), Syrian Marines, and National Defense Forces (NDF) – launched a new offensive in northeastern Latakia this morning, targeting the strategic town of Kabani that is currently under Jabhat Al-Nusra’s control.

According to the Desert Hawks media correspondent, Eyad Al-Hussein, the Syrian Armed Forces are storming Kabani’s southwestern hilltops in a new attempt to break into this heavily fortified town.

Jabhat Al-Nusra – alongside their allies from the Free Syrian Army’s “Liwaa Suqour Al-Ghaab”, Jaysh Al-Turkmen, and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham – control the two major hilltops in Kabani that overlook the large village of Al-Sirmaniyah.

As long as the extremist rebels control points 1125 and 1154, then they will continue to beat back the Syrian Armed Forces.
